China exported 1.05 million vehicles in 2012, up 29.7% compared to 2011.
If this 29.7% trend keeps going for some years, then after 7 years Chinese cars export can reach 10 million units in 2020.
The good thing is that the quality of Chinese has been improving steadily in recent years.
NOTE: 10 years ago, in 2003, China only exported 48,000 cars. So in 2012, after 9 years, the export is 40 times more.
据海关统计,2002年中国出口汽车整车(含成套散件)2万辆,2003年出口4.8万辆,2004年出口7.8万辆,2005年出口17.2万辆,预计2006年将出口34万辆。
Some Chinese cars:
Yes, according to Chinese source the total of 1.05 million is about all vehicles.
Thanks for clarifications.
“China exported 1.05 million cars (including trucks) in 2012, ….”
Ah yes, China exported a total of 1.o5 million vehicles of the passenger kind.
Passenger “cars” on the other hand would not include “trucks” as such, but in addition to sedans and hatchbacks, might include SUVS, MPVs and light trucks such as pickups.
This end-of-year statistics terminology can be somewhat confusing, as we also come to learn that only half the above export total is made up of sedans, and other passenger “cars”.
