Recent statistics, as reported by ycwb.com today, reveal that a total of 1.61 million Chinese-made SUVs were sold in the country last year. The amount represents year-on-year growth of 23.6 percent. The majority of those were made by Sino-foreign joint ventures, which saw their share in the segment increase from 58 percent in 2010 to 61.4 percent last year. Their overall sales volume increased 30.9 percent last year, while SUV sales for domestic own brands grew only 13.6 percent.
