Drogba offered more than Eto’o’s £350,000 a week as Chinese look to make Chelsea star world’s richest player on the planet. That’s about 35 million USD a year.

Chelsea striker Drogba is out of contract at the end of the season and wants a longer deal than the one-year offer on the table at Stamford Bridge.

Tottenham and AC Milan are keen on the 33-year-old Ivory Coast star while Shanghai Shenhua want to reunite Drogba with Nicolas Anelka, who has agreed a move from Chelsea to China.
Dalian Aerbin also want Drogba to move to the Far East and were offering a three-year deal worth £30million – £200,000 a week – but Super League champions Evergrande are prepared to blow them out of the water.

Samuel Eto’o is the world’s highest-paid player as he pockets around £350,000 a week with Russian outfit Anzhi Makhachkala but Evergrande will go higher to get their man.
Drogba’s agent Thierno Seydi said recently: ‘He’s had the offer of a one-year extension from Chelsea, but that does not suit us. At his age, he has nothing left to prove as a player. Once you are well into your thirties, you have to go to a club where you can be certain you’ll be able to pay your bills.

‘He will go where he is offered the most money. It could be the United States, Qatar, Russia or somewhere in Asia.

‘He’ll go wherever he feels good from a financial point of view.’

Evergrande boosted their squad this season by adding Argentine Dario Conca and Brazilian Cleo.
