The Convertible version will be the first to arrive on the US market, with sale to begin in June 2012.

The car’s roof is made from natural color Carbon Fiber Composite and comes painted ina dark color. It can be operated at speeds of up to 25 mph and takes 19 seconds to open and 24 seconds to close again.

In terms of power, BMW has opted to transfer the turbocharged 4.4 liter V8 – first used in the M5 – over to the M6. This engine will deliver a total of 560 HP (a 5 HP over the previous generation) and a peak torque of 500 lbs-ft. The engine will be mated to a a newly developed 7-speed double-clutch transmission and will sprint the car from 0 to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds, while top speed is limited to 155 mph.

宝马M6有着优雅的车身线条，跑车版车顶采用坚固的CFRP材料，敞篷版采用新型的软顶设计。宝马M6有着优秀的加速性能，这是由其动力、底盘、空气动力学设计和重量等多方面综合因素决定的，这其中重量起到了极为关键的作用，跑车版的重量马力比为3.3公斤/匹，敞篷版为3.5公斤/匹。

新一代宝马M6搭载4.4升V8双涡轮增压发动机，，最大马力为560匹（6000～7000rpm），最大扭矩为680牛米（1500RPM），最大发动机转速为7200RPM，相比前代车型最大马力输出提高10%，最大扭矩的提升达30%还多。M6采用后轮驱动，搭载的主动式M差速器可以在后轮之间0-100%地自由调节分配动力。

宝马M6跑车版百公里加速用时4.2秒，敞篷版为4.3秒，跑车版0至200公里/小时的加速时间为12.6秒，相应敞篷版为13.1秒，极速被电子限制在250公里/小时，如果选配了M Driver套装则极速可突破该上限，可至305公里/小时。新款宝马M6采用了带有Drivelogic技术的7速M双离合变速器，另外还提供了起步控制和低速辅助功能，定制的M挡位选择器，新款的M方向盘集成了拨片换挡装置。

新车拥有纯粹的M系运动风格、豪华的内饰设计、四独立座椅和创新的车载装备等，据悉跑车版的百公里油耗为9.9升，敞篷版为10.5升。新车将在今年9月18日的成都车展正式上市销售，预计售价在240万左右。
